There is one God, and one mediator between God and people, the man Christ Jesus (1 Timothy 2:5) in Whom all the fullness of the Godhead dwells in bodily form (Colossians 2:9) and Whom God the Father has exalted to the highest place, giving Him the Name which is above every name, that at the Name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. LATROBE CHRISTIAN WRITERSLaTrobe Christian Writers is an interdenominational Christian writers group for those who love the written word, whether writing for their own personal satisfaction or with aims of publication. The idea is just to encourage each other as we express our faith through our writing, no matter what genre we may write in or how much writing experience we may have, and to share any tips we may have on publication etc. We keep the whole thing as informal as possible, so just a couple of simple rules: 1. Participants must acknowledge the Lord Jesus Christ as the only Lord and Saviour. 2. Participants must desire to glorify God through their writing, whether it is intended for a Christian or secular readership. 3. Participants must be willing to share their work with the group, and to receive graciously critiques from the group. 4. Be kind to each other. If you are critiquing a piece, address the piece, not the person. We meet on the fourth Saturday of each month. Each month we set a "writing challenge" for the month. This is generally (but not always) a passage of the Bible on which we are free to write in any genre. We share our writing at the next meeting, and are learning to critique each other's work. If you are a Christian writer living in the Latrobe Valley and would like to join us, please contact me to confirm the date of the next meeting.
