God is So Stubborn
God is so stubborn.
Much as I try
to force Him
He obstinately refuses
to be tidily folded
neatly encapsulated
correctly labeled
and fitted into
my little box
called theology.
Instead
He rudely insists
on bulging out
here
there
and everywhere –
Untidy!
and just
when I think
I have Him
all squashed in
and am ready
to tie the final bow
making it presentable
He bursts out
shatters my theology
and forces me
to my knees
in worship.
